On March 3rd, High Point Rowing Club and Greensboro Crew will hold our annual Ergathon. This event is to raise funds for team equipment to upgrade our Fleet, install a floating dock, and acquire and wrap a horse trailer in team colors for travel to regattas. Our Youth and Masters rowers will divide into three teams and race each other on the indoor rowing machine for 500 meters at a time until combined we reach 100,000 meters. You can sponsor a rower with a gift of a fixed amount or determined by how many meters they row in the event (around 2,000m).
We will begin accepting gifts and pledges immediately and close out the campaign on March 15 when all pledges will be due. Our goal is to raise $25,000 to improve our Fleet and purchase the following items:
- Three 2-oared boats – $12,000
- Floating launch dock – $13,000
- Wrapped horse trailer for team travel supplies – $5,000
- Children with Austism rowing program support – $500
